How to travel to Salzburg:
Unfortunatly there are no direct flights in July from Manchester to Salzburg. But there are some nice connections over the weekend of the game (for example via Frankfurt) for around 160 Pound (round trip).
The airport of Munich is just about 100 miles from Salzburg and offers direct flights from Manchester Airport (starting at 130 Pound for the weekend). From Munich you can get a Train, a Bus or just rent a car to drive to Salzburg.
If you plan to come over by car or bike … it`s exactly 1.016 miles (1.633 km) via road and sea. So better start early … ;-)
Where to stay?
Due to a big electronic music festival and a concert of a well known band, we do recommend to book your accommodation as early as possible, as availability will be limited the longer you wait.
As the city of Salzburg is not very big, our ground is in good reachabillity from every Hotel around the city. Nevertheless we listed some Hotels within reasonable distance to the ground:
Recommended Hotels within walking distance to our ground:
Gasthof zur Post
Recommended Hotels on the Bus-Line 10 (which connects our ground with the Airport and the city centre):
Hotel Salzburg, Himmelreich 6, 5071 Salzburg
IBIS Budget Airport
Star Inn Salzburg Center
Hotel am Neutor
Austria Trend Hotel Salzburg West
The Austria-Stadion is situated between the city centre and the airport. The adress is: Eichetstraße 29 – 31, Salzburg/Maxglan. The ground is served by Bus-Line 10 (city centre – Airport). Walking distance from the city centre is about 40 minutes.
At the game there will be probably no separation between supporters, although we will reserve „Section A1“ for travelling FCUM supporters. Tickets can be bought directly via FC United (Infos to follow) or by pay at the gate. The „box office“ will be open on match-day 1 ½ hours prior to Kick-Off. The ground opens 1 hour before Kick-Off – the Pub at the ground opens at 2 p.m.
There will be a little pre-party on Friday evening (06.07.2018) at the VIOLETT (Austria Pub which is directly adjacent to our ground). A nice range of beer, live music and our supporters await you there for a good night-out together.
On Friday, it's open from 4pm and on Saturday from 2pm. Of course, you can watch England v Sweden there.
